THE WOMEN + MEN
IN OUR COMMUNITY
MAGDALENE KC - HOUSING PROJECT
Welcoming adult survivors of prostitution into our Magdalene KC home, Veronica's Voice provides up to two years of housing and services that are desperately needed to recover from their complex traumas and addictions, and renewal through education, life skills and job training to empower them with a meaningful alternative that is not available through temporary housing and limited services. Read a letter from our founder or click here to learn more and how you can help.
EDUCATION
Public and private presentations are given regularly to churches, neighborhood groups, healthcare facilities, community interest groups, drug treatment facilities and other interested organizations to help mainstream society’s understanding of the dynamics of prostitution as well as the oppression that faces those in the life. Request a speaker.
School Awareness Programs – Veronica’s Voice staffs a table presenting engaging materials in the KCK middle and high schools at their “Youth Health Fairs” to increase awareness on pimp grooming techniques and the other realities of prostitution. Request a speaker or interview.
JOHNZ SCHOOL
The Offenders Accountability Re-Education, or “Johnz School,” is an intensive, one-day, educational class providing intervention for the demand side of prostitution. Attendees are court-ordered. The fees for this program, which are paid by the buyer, or “john,” go directly to support the Veronica’s Voice services and programs provided to the commercially sexually exploited women in our community.
OUTREACH
Through personal peer interaction on the street, truck stops, in the jails, and other known venues of commercial sex activity, the Veronica’s Voice outreach team build relationships with prostituted women in the community and with community organizations.
